Dignity.. the latest album

Hillary Duff returns with a new studio album April 3 titled "Dignity" and a new single "With Love" launching mid-February to pop radio. The video will premiere on MTV 02/08. The "Dignity" album will be coming in a special CD/DVD combo pack and will include her recent single "Play With Fire."

Kara Dioguradi , a song writer is the co-writer for all the songs sang by Hilary on her album Dignity ,who has already written songs for Avril ,Britney and others too.
Why With Love...?
With Love is the name for a duff fragrance launched recently. This may be either the co-incidence or any other strategies or may even be a sort of inspirations in both the cases.

The track listings for the album Dignity is as follows:

  • Happy - mellow, acoustic, personal
  • Where’s your Dignity?
  • With Love
  • Gypsy Woman
  • Play with Fire

The songs' videos are available at
Songs and Lyrics of Dignity at

The song Where's your dignity? is written by Hilary herself and feels important to have dignity. She also claims her album to be a dance album.

The songs both being happy and sad , the influence of Joel split up could be guessed somehow. However this may not be true in either of the cases. She claims to be in touch with Joel even after the split up. But I guess ... I had written once in this very blog about Hilary ignoring Joel and not answering the calls from him..

Here is a video of Kiss fm 102.7 where Hilary had her first premiere for her album Dignity. Visit it at Hilary Duff Videos Encyclopedia

Duff has learned lessons in Dignity

Hilary Duff performed for just over 7,700 fans at the Bell Centre last night, as part of a tour in support of her album Dignity.

JORDAN ZIVITZ,The Gazette

When Hilary Duff played the Bell Centre in January 2005, she seemed like a marketing man's defective puppet, with an off-kilter yelp and clueless stage presence. By contrast, when she unpacked songs from her recent Dignity album last night at the same venue in front of just over 7,700, she seemed - well, dignified.

It didn't take long for her to make a decent impression: After a strobe-heavy intro gave many young girls their first taste of simulated epilepsy, Duff strode out to the electro-pop beat of Play with Fire. She seemed more refined, less desperate to please than in the past, with the directionless energy of her earlier shows transferred to a quartet of dancers who won't be sweeping any choreography awards.

Composure isn't the only lesson she's learned: Her vocals throughout the 100-minute set were considerably smoother than the dog-torturing shrillness of 2005.

Three songs in, Come Clean was a case study in another valuable teaching for the teen-beat crowd: Tinker, but don't overhaul. When Britney Spears turned her prepubescent sex-me-ups into jazz-club standards on her 2004 Onyx Hotel tour, she lost the crowd. Come Clean was tweaked to bring it in line with the blurpy beats of Dignity, but wasn't a pointless revamp.

Most of Duff's banter was of the "Sing with me, insert-city-name" variety, but she's either good at feigning sincerity or living by her own platitudes. Speaking of sincerity, titling your album Dignity is pretty rich when you're stamping your name on overpriced souvenir glow sticks. But Duff is perhaps the only mall queen these days who could sing the disc's title track - a dig at her contemporaries' vacuous celebrity, accompanied by a parade of tabloids on the video screen - without sounding like a drunk pot calling a baby-dropping kettle black.

That and other new numbers sounded meatier live than on album. But the kid-pop cavalcade

following the first wardrobe change squeezed some of the most delighted squeals from the grade-school crowd. This should worry Duff: Her audience isn't growing with her - each of Duff's last two visits have seen her shed 3,000 or 4,000 fans, and last night's crowd didn't look any older than the one in 2005. The singer smiled and cooed throughout Why Not, but one imagines it may gall her to see early hits getting most of the ear-burning cheers.

While Duff's previous Gong Show level of competence wasn't missed last night, there was often a distinct void of charisma. The speed-freak traffic video accompanying The Getaway provided more action than Duff's blas presence, and giving So Yesterday a slight reggae lilt was no excuse to chill by the drum kit.

Duff came alive after changing into a glitter-ball skirt for a run dominated by Dignity material. Outside of You pointed the way forward - a solid slab of pop durable enough to hang around after all those glow sticks die out.

Hilary Duff on Today Show

Hilary Duffs appears the 29th June morning on Today Show in New York. Her interview as published in msnbc.today.com

As published in today.msnbc.com
Teen star Hilary Duff: 'I'm very normal'

The 19-year-old singer-actress, who lives with her sister, is learning to cook

By Mike Celizic
TODAYShow.com contributor

She's the anti-Britney, a teen star who tries to live and perform with dignity, which also happens to be the title of Hilary Duff's fourth CD.

Between live performances of songs from the album on Rockefeller Plaza outside the TODAY studios, she talked with TODAY co-host Meredith Vieira about "Dignity" and being 19 and living on her own with her 22-year-old sister, actress and singer Haylie Duff.

"We're trying to learn how to cook so we can feed ourselves," she told Vieira. "Haylie's better than I am, but I can bake, which is good."

What makes "Dignity" different from her previous albums, which have sold more than 13 million copies, is that for the first time Duff co-wrote all the songs on it.

"Are you trying to be adult?" Vieira asked Duff.

"People have watched me grow up for such a long time that everybody thinks that it's this huge, new thing that I'm trying to do," she said. There was no conscious decision involved. Rather, she said, "It's like the first time that I wanted to write my own music and come up with my own sound.

"I'm a little bit older. It's where I am in my life right now."

Where she is is everywhere. "She's more than a triple-threat," Vieira observed, a singer, actress and fashion designer who also has her own perfume called "With Love," which is the name of the first single on her album. What she is not is a police-blotter entry or an alumna of a rehab center.

"'Nineteen' and 'dignity' don't go together" very often these days, Vieira observed before asking Duff what her secret is.

"I don't know," she said. "I wish there was some kind of formula I could explain. I guess it's just the way you want to be seen, and what you do in your personal time and how much you want the public to know about that.

"I'm very close to my family. I'm very normal. If I'm not working — I work pretty much every day — I hang out with my dog and I live with my sister."

She doesn't rely on material things for security, she said, adding, "My band and my crew — I rely on them and my dog."

Her appearance on the Plaza was part of the TODAY Show's Summer Concert Series. Later this summer, she and her band will be off on a month-long tour of the U.S.

"Stranger," another single she performed for an enthusiastic crowd, has reached No. 4 on MTV's TRL, and "With Love" was No. 1 on that chart.

She's also listed at No. 1 on Billboard's Dance Chart and last week was named "favorite international artist" on the Much Music Awards.

Besides the album, Duff is also doing two films, "War, Inc." with John Cusack, Ben Kingsley and Marisa Tomei; and an animated feature, "Foodfight."

Still, she has time for charitable causes, spending time a week ago to visit Normancie Elementary School in Los Angeles to stuff back packs with food for the Blessings in a Back Pack charity run by USA Harvest. Among her other charitable causes are animal rights and Kids with a Cause. After Hurricane Katrina, she donated more than $2.5 million to victims of that disaster.

A star since she was 13 and starring in the Disney Channel series "Lizzie McGuire," Duff has also had roles in "The Lizzie McGuire Movie," "Cheaper by the Dozen" and "A Cinderella Story."

As early as five years ago, she was dating singer Aaron Carter, whom she met on the set of "Lizzie McGuire." The entertainment press reported that her heart was broken when Carter left her for fellow teen star Lindsay Lohan.

Duff and Lohan have since made up, and Lohan was among the guests when "Dignity" was released.

In 2004, Duff was linked with singer Joel Madden, a relationship that ended last year.

Hilary Duff featured in LA Direct

Hilary Duff is featured on the August 2007 cover of LA Direct Magazine. And also the cover story
hilary-duff-ladirect-01hilary-duff-ladirect-02hilary-duff-ladirect-03hilary-duff-ladirect-04

Finally, someone is showing these Hollywood wrecking-balls that you can grab the media spotlight in positive ways. It doesn’t always have to be about endangering lives or nervous breakdowns. Other females in the entertainment industry are continually crashing their image in lows never before thought possible, and Duff’s looking and feeling better than ever.

The 19 year-old singer/songwriter/actress has just started her own national tour for her latest pop album, Dignity. She graced the covers of five magazines in July, and none of them were candid shots of a drunken Hilary, or a strung-out Hilary, or a tear-streaked, underwear-flashing, I’m-a-walking-disaster photo. Even after a double-blow last year, featuring the break-up of her two-and-a-half-year relationship with Joel from the band Good Charlotte, as well as her parents’ decision to file for divorce.

“I’m not that person who goes to fancy restaurants all the time and wants to be seen everywhere,” Duff said in a recent interview with Seventeen Magazine. “Yes, it’s fun every once in a while, but I’m not going to go places where I know I’m going to be photographed.” It’s about time someone was able to handle the responsibility. And Duff’s ability to do this is what makes her far more interesting than the many, many others who aren’t up for the job.

The most dramatic measures she’s taken lately involve going on a severe health kick. While she’s previously been scorned in the public eye for being both overweight and underweight, she recently has gotten into an incredibly sane health regime. The new-and-improved Hilary Duff diet includes balancing all types of foods, including carbs, as well as pilates four times a week.

“I want to inspire people to have a healthy mindset,” she told Shape Magazine last month. “Everyone needs food that gives them energy they need to be active — and they should have fun.”

“A lot of people keep me in check,” Duff says to Maxim’s Alison Prato. “It’s not exactly hard being so young and having so much — I’m thankful. But young people in Hollywood get so used to being told ‘yes’ all the time, and that’s not reality. When you get everything you want at a young age, you become bored. You’re like, ‘What’s next? What else is there?’ I think this might be the problem.”
In Duff’s case, she’s got a solid background in self-entertainment. She seems to have a solid enough head on her shoulders that she can find new and interesting ways to challenge herself. Making bigger movies, writing better songs; there are many places she can take herself that don’t include celebrity rehab or jail.

The songs on her latest album, Dignity, were a direct product of her break-up with Joel and dealing with her parents’ divorce. She decided to channel all the emotion into an artistic creation instead of drowning it all in substance abuse. This alone may prove why she is thriving right now; Duff may be an actual artist.

“When we broke up I’d already written a few songs about us, and I was like, ‘Can I use this stuff now? It’s so personal,’” Duff tells Prato. “But I ended up using everything because I wanted the album to be honest. I’m not perfect, and I don’t have a perfect family. The album lets people inside my life — not the life everybody thinks they know or that they read about, but my real life.” There’s something to be respected for the fact that she not only wrote her own songs, but they seem to be curtain-less windows into her life and her views.

“The song [“Dignity”] is about people living in LA,” Duff tells Prato, “and how easy it is to lose yourself here. Sometimes this town is so shocking. People think they can throw money around and get whatever they want. Dignity isn’t something you’re born with — it’s something you have to work on.”

Duff isn’t one to hang out with the typical Hollywood crowd. She’s usually found with her sister and her best friend. Being an outsider never had so many positive effects before. It takes a real backbone to resist the Hollywood “in-crowd,” and that’s why we can be certain that Duff is one of the stronger stars in the LA atmosphere.

Hilary Duff interviewed with Marie Claire,India

Three albums: Hilary Duff, Metamorphosis and now Dignity. How do you rate your progress as a musician?
Every song of mine is personal. I couldn’t help but write about things that affected me. I was half in a relationship making the record and then half not, so there were a lot of different emotions that I covered.

One song in Dignity that holds a special place for you?
I get a lot of my song ideas when I’m driving. Sometimes a title comes to my mind and I know there’s something there. With this song ‘Dignity’, I wanted ‘raise your dignity’ to be the title and to be the chorus. Those words just stuck in my head. I thought young girls could relate to them.

You walked the red carpet all over the world even before you had a driver’s lisence. Today you have both, from teen sensation to a young woman. How does the journey feel?
Well, I’m 19 now, it’s a natural step. I don’t think I’m a full-grown adult. My mom moved out a year and a half ago, but my sister Haylie (22) and I live together. It has been more of a natural evolution than a conscious transformation.

TV shows, movies, music and perfumes. Most people your age would still be planning what to do in life. But you’ve already achieved what most don’t in an entire lifetime. What next?
I only hope that I continue my acting and music long enough, though I like to try different things and have fun. As for my fashion label, its so much fun to be a girl and play around with so many looks. I never like doing too much of one thing. It’s more fun when you mix your street-wear with high fashion.

Sometimes when we achieve so much at such a young age, there is a fear of a burnout. Does this bother you?
A lot of people keep me in check. It’s not exactly hard being so young and having so much. But young people in Hollywood get used to being told ‘yes’ all the time. When you get everything you want at a young age, you become bored. You’re like, "What’s next? What else is there?" I think that might be the problem with those who have it all. But I’m thankful for what I have.

On a lighter note, what does Hilary Duff like in terms of movies, music and men? What is your chill-out mantra?
My tastes are all over the place. I love punk and eighties’ dance. When I go out, it’s to be with friends, which is almost the same as hanging out at home. I don’t go out for ‘the scene’. I’m not looking, but if the right guy comes along, I’ll be ready.

You’ve done a bit of Madonna in the movie ‘Material Girl’. In the current album there is a song called ‘Dreamer’. Did you ever dream that one day you could also be producing music albums like her? Do you plan to do a song with her?
I was very excited to meet Madonna. If given a chance, I would love to work with her.

Hilary Duff stays Grounded...

Hilary Duff stays grounded
By DAVID SCHMEICHEL -- Sun Media

It makes perfect sense that former tween queen Hilary Duff would want to name her most recent album Dignity.

For one thing, she's one of the only stars her age who could pull it off.

To date, Duff is one of scant few members of Hollywood's new guard who have yet to be arrested, shipped off to rehab, or caught flashing their lady parts to paparazzi while clumsily exiting a limo.

Instead, she has made a pretty smooth transition from teen-TV fare like Lizzie Maguire to popular big-screen projects like A Cinderella Story and the Cheaper by the Dozen franchise. Along the way, she's released six CDs, and while critics haven't always been kind to her fluffy brand of pop, the Dignity disc -- awash in electro-clash stylings and heavily autobiographical lyrics -- has been met with pretty positive reviews.

So what is it that keeps Duff -- already a show-biz veteran at the tender age of 19 -- out of the scandal sheets and in the public's good books?

"I guess it's my mom," says Duff, while being driven to her home in L.A. "I really feel like that is what has made it so easy for me to not have to go through all that.

"My mom and my sister being so close to me, and my actually caring what they have to say ... Also having a mom that doesn't want the lifestyle I have, but who just wants to be my mom."

She's definitely on to something there. While your typical train-wreck celebs (think Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, Paris Hilton or Nick Carter) tend to have parents who are just as fame-hungry as they are, those lucky enough not to be dogged by scandal (think Justin Timberlake, Mandy Moore, and ... uh, see how hard this?) usually have guardians content to offer support from the sidelines.

Perhaps we have Duff's mom to thank for the perky pop star's preternatural poise, which seems a bit at odds with the awkward antics she engaged in on the Lizzie Maguire set back in the day.

"Well, in some ways I was a lot like that character, but I've also always been pretty mature for my age," says Duff, when asked which persona -- clumsy klutz or dignified diva -- most resembles the real-life Hilary.

Not that she's looking to show all her cards anytime soon. A far more private person than her compatriots, Duff says she found it difficult to air some of her dirty laundry on Dignity, which sees her riffing on a failed relationship, her parents' recent divorce, and a stalker jailed for harassing her in 2006.

"At first it was scary, because you're like, 'How much do I want people to know?' " explains Duff, who's been romantically linked to Aaron Carter and Good Charlotte frontman Joel Madden. "It's hard to let your guard down when you're so used to having it up, but it got easier."

That practice should prove beneficial where Duff's acting career is concerned, especially since it's the outlet she plans to focus on whenever doubling as an actress and a singer grows too demanding.

Though her prior efforts have netted her a string of Razzie Award nominations (not a good thing), she's got two high-profile film projects due out this year -- voice-work on the animated comedy Foodfight!, and a part in the political satire War Inc., alongside John Cusack, Marisa Tomei and Ben Kingsley.

But fans of her albums needn't worry -- she isn't done with singing just yet.

"It's that instant gratification of having a live audience in front of you," Duff says, when asked what recording offers that acting doesn't. "Having people who don't even speak the same language as you relating to you, and singing all the words to your songs."

Hilary Duff's Winnipeg Concert Review by David Schmeichel

The first review of the first Dignity Tour Concert by David Schmeichel

”OMG times infinity, guys!!
Former tween-queen Hilary Duff rolled through town yesterday, delighting a somewhat sparse crowd of MTS Centre attendees with an evening’s worth of polished, kid-friendly pop music.

And while we’re not usually big fans of polished, kid-friendly pop, we’ve gotta admit we have a pretty big crush on Duff, thanks largely to the fact she hasn’t been arrested, shipped off to rehab, or caught flashing her nether regions to the paparazzi in recent weeks.

Seems we’re not alone — a pretty deafening round of screams greeted the 19-year-old singer (and sometime actress) when she took to the stage last night, flanked by a seven-piece band and four extremely agile back-up dancers.

"All we can see is glow-sticks everywhere," gushed Duff, who came dressed for the occasion in silver short-shorts and sparkly stilettos.
"It’s fantastic!"

Operating almost exclusively out of her upper register, the helium-voiced cutie opened her show with the surprisingly chunky pop-rocker Play With Fire, copping a gutsy attitude that would’ve made Pat Benatar proud.
Flirting playfully with her dancers as she strutted across the stage, Duff segued into Danger, another electro-clashish number from her latest album Dignity (which, to be fair, owes a pretty hefty debt of gratitude to the likes of Gwen Stefani, Kylie Minogue and ’80s-era Madonna).

Anyone with cable could recognize the opening refrain of Come Clean, the wistful ballad that doubles as the theme song to MTV’s Laguna Beach. But those clueless enough to confuse Duff with the air-headed celebu-tards populating that program would’ve been set straight by Dignity’s title track.

"You’d show up to the opening of an envelope," dissed Duff, taking a thinly-veiled swipe at the likes of Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, and Lindsay Lohan. "Why does everybody care about where you go?"
After ducking backstage to change into a classy-looking cocktail dress, Duff returned with the Kelly Clarkson-esque track The Getaway, then riffed on Frankie Goes to Hollywood before launching into Gypsy Woman.
She planted herself on a stool at centre-stage for the acoustic ballad Someone’s Watching Over Me, but quickly shifted things back into high gear with a medley of hits like Beat of My Heart, the reggae-infused So Yesterday, and a solid cover of the Go-Go’s Our Lips Are Sealed.

Her music might not be that sophisticated, but Duff has clearly done her homework, as evidenced when she beefed up one of her fluffier hits with elements from Dream Academy’s Life In a Northern Town, or delivered a fist-pumping version of Benatar’s Love Is A Battlefield.

Barring any unfortunate DUI arrests (or booze-fuelled head-shaving incidents), she’ll likely outlast the rest of her pop-tart contemporaries.
And while Duff has probably outgrown her fan clubs by this point, last night’s performance had us ready to sign up.

Hilary Duff's Concert in Everett, review and videos of the Performance

Hilary Duff gave another blazing performance in Everett.

See the videos ...

But the show was packed only with the 25% of the total capacity, and the fans were seemed to be trying to make it out a LARGE ONE.

Duff opened with crowd favorites such as "Coming Clean," "Beat of My Heart" and "Our Lips are Sealed," belting out the catchy hooks in her light, airy voice, which still has a childlike quality.

The music had such a prepackaged sound that it was hard to tell if the musicians were actually playing. The young band members banged away at drums, strummed the guitars and fingered the piano in a manner akin to a Disney Channel music video.
There was no edge, or spontaneity to the sound, just a sing-song rhythm repackaged and rehashed to accompany Duff's multiple outfits and play-acting choreography.

"So Yesterday," was a little better. The band infused it with a reggae beat, and the Bob Marley hook, "Everything's gonna be all right" from "No Woman, No Cry," which made the song less predictable.

Her rendition of "Love is a Battlefield" was equally surprising, replacing Pat Benatar's angry edge with a poplike ode to girl power.

New songs from her "Dignity" album ("With Love," "I Wish" and "Dignity") amped up the pop appeal with edgy electronic beats — not as robotic as the Bravery or as club-friendly as Justin Timberlake, but entertaining enough.

She closed with the best song on her "Dignity" album, "Stranger," which has a seductive Arabic flute and pulsating electronic beats similar to Britney Spears' "I'm a Slave for You." Although the music lacked substance, one thing is clear — the girl has got style and a powerhouse marketing machine. Her fans left decked out in Duff hoodies, and holding glow pens and pamphlets covered with glamour photos of the pop-star-in-the-making.

The opening act, Lifehouse, was more musically mature — too bad the crowd didn't know who they were. The band rocked out with lead singer Jason Wade's trademark raspy, sultry voice soaring over escalating guitar riffs in "Hanging by a Moment" and over the slow melodic "You and Me."

Hilary Duff now with Polish dance Remixers WAWA

Stand by this summer as US superstar singer Hilary Duff returns alongside Polish dance remixers WAWA with the sensational Stranger, released on Hollywood Records via the Angel Music Group on September 03rd 2007.

Stranger sees Hilary continue her musical reinvention, hooking up with WAWA to produce an infectious slice of dance/pop heaven that is already topping club charts across the UK and the rest of the world.

The track has been building as a very hot limited promo since the start of summer and was dropped peak-time at the holy-grail of superclubs, Space in Ibiza, during the opening party. It was also awarded ‘Tune of the Week’ in their weekly podcast.

Co-written by Hilary herself, the lyrics reveal a relationship that is picture perfect in public, but cold behind closed doors.

Stanger is also included on Hilary’s critically acclaimed electro album Dignity. Here’s what the UK critics said about this confident collection of cool pop:

Dignity sees Hilary metamorphose into a moody, electro princess. The best tracks hold their own against Kylie. Duff as ever is charmingly chameleon-like The Guardian

It is pop of the sleekest kind. Hilary has been reinvented. Music Week

All in all this new direction works and might surprise a few ears. The Sun

She’s the hottest singer turned actress. Hilary’s fabulously camp new album will bring disco back with a feast of floor fillers. Company Magazine

Dignity debuted at No.4 in the USA, continuing Hilary’s amazing run of success. Her US No.1 solo debut album Metamorphosis sold 4 times platinum, followed by her self-titled and Most Wanted collections, both of which sold 3 million records. In the UK Hilary has hit the Top 10 with songs Wake Up and So Yesterday. Her Most Wanted album has to date sold over 100,000 copies in the UK, achieving Gold status.

WAWA are Polish duo Vic and Bojan. Over the past six years they have built a solid reputation as top notch DJs and producers. 2007 has seen WAWA’s profile raised even further thanks to their excellent remix of Stonebridge’s SOS a No.1 club record in the UK, and their remix for JoJo which went Top 3 in the club charts and was hammered by Scott Mills on Radio One.

Hilary is currently in rehearsals for her upcoming world tour, due to hit UK shores this autumn.

Hilary Duff Sends 'Hello Note' to a Lesbian Website

Hilary Duff has created a video at Youtube , though the video is posted unofficially. In the video Hilary sends a Hello note to a Lesbian website AfterEllen.com. There may be many questions regarding this video. Some think its a fake, and some may even guess something about Hilary. Lets not make such wild guesses. This may also be a sort of promotion of her album Dignity. Anyway here is the video as uploaded in Youtube...

As exactly as stated in the website,

LINDSAY LOHAN WOULD HAVE MADE ONE FOR US TOO, BUT SHE'S BUSY NOW WITH ARTS AND CRAFTS
Supercute pop songstress Hilary Duff, who is out promoting her new single "Stranger" from her Dignity CD, has just passed all of you AfterEllen.com readers a sweet video love note. We're not sure why she sent it, but we like it! Maybe she has a girl crush on us, or is angling to make our Hot List next year. Hey, after watching her "Stranger" video (hello, bellydancing!), I'd vote for her!

Canoe Jam Music, Concert Review

Scotiabank Place, Ottawa - Sept. 5, 2007

By -- Sun Media
Ottawa, and the rest of the world for that matter, just can't get enough of that teen queen Hilary Duff.

The 19-year-old entertainer has released four albums over the past four years, including her latest collection of derivative dance numbers and ballads called Dignity. As if that wasn't enough, she's also done a couple of movies, designed her own line of tween wear and launched her own fragrance, "Stuff."

Even with all that on her plate, Duff made time to walk through something that looked like a concert at Scotiabank Place last night.

Talking about dignity, there wasn't much of it in this brazen parade of marketing-based entertainment. And much like her last visit in 2006, Duff worked the screaming bubblegummers and their parents over ruthlessly with a tightly choreographed but hopelessly robotic show.

It opened with a truly deafening wail from 4,200 hormonally discharging teenaged girls as Duff dove into Playing With Fire, Danger and that theme song for dozens of acne cream ads, Come Clean.

And when she leaned back, closed her eyes and belted that one out, it actually looked like she was singing.
